Skit Ideas

1. For my first idea I thought itwould be cool t act out the scenewhen that soldiers come to Joe and then they go on the hunt for the Convict. It has a lot of roles it it and it cna be used to contrast the way Pip acts in the begining towards Joe compared to when he is a gentleman.
2. The second idea is to portray the first scene between Pip and Estella when they are playing their card game. Even though Estella is quite mean to Pip he still falls inlove with her after this encounter.
3. My last option for a skit is to show the scene that has Miss Havisham apoligizing to Pip and then catching on fire. The fact that Pip saves her shows that he is not as selfish as he appears.

I personally like the idea of using #3 because it is an important scene for the play.

Not Again!!!!

Ok the comcept of Compeyson and his connection to all of the characters. He is the second convict fighting with Abel in the Marshes correct? And is also is linked to Miss Havisham by being her betrayer right? So why? What purpose does Dickens intend from having one character ruin others lives? I think that in some way Abel has past experiences with Miss HAvisham besides the link with Compeyson. Maybe the Pocket's or other family can tie in.

While reading Great Expectations there is a lot that I don't understand but the one quote that sticks out is why Pip calls his experiences his "Expectations". In chapter 31 In the last paragraph Pip Says "and miserably dreamed that my expectations were canceled. (Pp. 259). Why would he refer to them like this? why not his, dreams or accomplishments. Please help me!

Great Expectations

Miss Havisham is an distressed women. On her wedding day her heart was broken and from that point on her life stopped. I use a clock to show this. At her house all of the clocks are stopped on the same time, most likley the moment she was dumped. She has not chaged a single thing since this moment and is still emotional destressed.
